2026 Ogoto Onsen Cool Summer Fireworks Festival Full-Day Course
This day course centers on the Ogoto Onsen Cool Summer Fireworks Festival, held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, around Ogoto Onsen Port in Otsu City, taking you through the lakeside history and hot spring town of Lake Biwa. At midday, visit Hiyoshi Taisha, the head shrine of Sanno worship, then take a leisurely stroll through the old temple town of Sakamoto, where the Anota-zumi stone walls still remain. In the afternoon, enjoy the lakeside scenery of Lake Biwa at Karasaki Shrine, one of the Eight Views of Omi, and in the evening secure your spot for the fireworks while having dinner in the Ogoto Onsen hot spring district. At 8 pm, around 1,200 fireworks color the night sky over Lake Biwa from the area around Ogoto Onsen Port. This day is quintessentially Otsu, letting you fully enjoy the historic temple town, a lakeside hot spring, and fireworks all at once.
