At midday, visit the reconstructed three-story turret of Komine Castle, then enjoy boating and strolling at Nanko Park, known as one of Japan's oldest parks. In the afternoon, touch on the castle town's history at Shirakawa Shukoen, then fill up in front of Shirakawa Station before heading to Shiroyama Park, the fireworks venue, in the evening to secure a spot.
