2026 Takedera Yomatsuri (竹寺夜祭り花火大会) Fireworks Full-Day Course
A day course exploring the mountainous area of Hanno (飯能), centered on the Takedera Yomatsuri Fireworks Festival (竹寺夜祭り花火大会), held on Sunday, August 16, 2026. At midday, have a meal at the shopping street in front of Hanno Station (飯能駅), then take a leisurely stroll along the shore of Lake Miyazawa (宮沢湖). In the afternoon, visit Tenryuji Temple (天龍寺), affectionately known as Nenogongen (子ノ権現), and continue on to Takedera Temple (竹寺), which stands at the end of the mountain road. Takedera is known as a rare temple that retains traces of Shinto-Buddhist syncretism by featuring a torii gate despite being a Buddhist temple, and the quiet air of its grove will calm your mind. In the evening, secure a spot around the temple grounds, have a meal, and wait for nightfall. At night, fireworks launch into the sky above Takedera, surrounded by mountains. It is a special night where you can experience a quiet, resonant atmosphere deep in the mountains, unlike any fireworks festival in the city. This is a day plan unique to summer in Hanno, spent immersed in nature.
