2026 Saijo Citizens' Summer Fireworks Festival: Full-Day Enjoyment Course
This is a full-day course centered on the Saijo Citizens' Summer Fireworks Festival, held from 8:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the middle levee along the Kamo River in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture. During the day, take a leisurely walk through the shopping street in front of Iyo-Saijo Station and visit Ishizuchi Shrine, where you can gaze up at Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest peak in western Japan. In the afternoon, rest at Michi-no-Eki Komatsu Oasis with its mountain views, then cool off at the Uchinuki springs, selected as one of Japan's 100 best water sources. In the evening, have a meal at the food court of a shopping mall, and it's a good idea to pick up drinks and insect repellent as well. Once night falls, head to the Kamo riverside and look up with your family at the beautiful sight of fireworks reflected on the river's surface. Fully enjoy the nature and history of this town of pure water during the day, then close it out with fireworks over the Kamo River at night, a summer day plan unique to Saijo.
