2026 Uto Jizo Festival Fireworks Display One-Day Highlights Course
This is a course for enjoying a full day in Uto City, where the Ariake Sea and historic castle ruins remain. In the daytime, stroll the historical park at Uto Castle Ruins (宇土城跡, Nishiokadai), and in the afternoon, encounter the clear spring water at Todoroki Spring (轟水源), known as a famous natural spring. In the evening, take in the view of the Ariake Sea at Sumiyoshi Nature Park and Uto Marina (住吉自然公園・宇土マリーナ) before having dinner at a roadside station. The itinerary also includes the rural fields of Zendoji-cho, where the Uto Jizo Festival's fireworks display has typically been held, though the 2026 festival has been postponed due to the effects of the Kumamoto earthquake, and its timing and content have not yet been decided (per Uto City's official announcement). Packed with history, water, and the sea, this is a fulfilling, Uto-style day plan.
