2026 Yugawara Onsen Offshore Fireworks Festival: A Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on the Yugawara Onsen Offshore Fireworks Festival, held for 20 minutes starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, off the coast of Yoshihama Beach in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture (postponed from its originally scheduled date of August 3 due to Typhoon No. 13). During the day, enjoy the foot baths at Manyo Park, which spreads along a mountain stream, and pay a visit to Goso Shrine, the guardian shrine of Yugawara. In the afternoon, visit Joganji Temple, known for its giant tree said to be over 800 years old, and in the evening, have an early dinner and browse for souvenirs in the Yugawara Onsen district. Once night falls, head to Yoshihama Beach to watch about 2,000 fireworks shells light up the night sea in a short but concentrated 20 minutes, a summer day plan unique to this hot spring town. With strolling and foot baths to unwind body and mind, it's a great course for a family summer vacation. Watching the night fireworks with the sea breeze is the perfect finale to the trip.
