2026 Dai-Yokkaichi Festival: A Full Day to Enjoy
The 《Dai-Yokkaichi Festival (大四日市まつり)》 unfolds around Mitaki-dori (三滝通り) and Suwa Shindo (諏訪新道) in the center of Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. In 2026, it's held over two days, Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, and it's one of Yokkaichi's largest summer festivals, featuring the Dai-Yokkaichi dance, gorgeous festival floats, and mighty whale boats parading through the streets. This course is a full-day plan centered on the festival's first day, August 1. Start by previewing the industrial city and its petrochemical complex from the observation floor of the Yokkaichi Port Building (四日市港ポートビル), the symbol of Yokkaichi Port, then pray for a safe day at Suwa Shrine (諏訪神社), the namesake of Suwa Shindo. Next, enjoy shopping and food-hopping at Smile (スメール) in front of Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station (近鉄四日市駅), and experience the planetarium and local history at the Yokkaichi City Museum (四日市市立博物館). At 3:30 PM, the area around Mitaki-dori and Suwa Shindo is finally wrapped in the excitement of the festival's main event.
