2026 Citizens' Grand Dance Festival - Full Day Enjoyment Course
The "Citizens' Grand Dance Festival" held at Shimahara Park Grounds in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for Amanohashidate (天橋立), one of the Three Views of Japan. Taking place on August 15, 2026 (Saturday), this annual event concludes Miyazu's summer with local residents dancing in circles. This course allows you to fully enjoy the spectacular views of Amanohashidate before joining the dancing. First, walk through the white sandy sandbar of Amanohashidate with its pine groves, then experience the famous "View Between the Legs" at Amanohashidate Viewland. After visiting Chionji Temple, known for the wisdom of Monjusari, and the former Mikami Family Residence, which showcases Miyazu's merchant culture, you'll be ready for the festival at 5 PM. This is a quintessentially Miyazu course where you can experience spectacular sea views, history, and the warmth of the dancing circles all in one day.
