2026 Nezaki Shrine Grand Festival: A Full-Day Course
This full-day course centers on the 'Nezaki Shrine Grand Festival' (August 13-15, 2026, first day August 13), held across the coastal villages of Sekinai, Nezaki, and Ayukawa in Kumaishi, Yakumo Town, Hokkaido. During the day, take in the harbor scenery of moored fishing boats at Sekinai Fishing Port, then stroll along the quiet Sea of Japan beaches at Tomarikawa Beach and Ayukawa Beach. Following the coastline of the Oiwake Soran Line, enjoy the sea breeze off the Sea of Japan and the relaxed pace unique to a fishing village. At 17:00, as you approach Nezaki Shrine, the sound of festival taiko drums begins to be heard, and the community-wide grand festival is about to reach its peak.
