2026 Asahi City Tanabata Citizen Festival - Full Day Course
A full-day course centered on the "Asahi City Tanabata Citizen Festival" (August 6-7, 2026, opening day August 6, held at Asahi Central Shopping Street), held in Asahi City - a town of cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and rich history. During the day, enjoy a grand panorama from Iioka Gyobu Cape Observation Hall "Light and Wind" at the northern end of Kujukuri Beach, visit the Ohara Yugaku Memorial Hall to trace the footsteps of an Edo-period educator, and touch timeless history at Yoshibun Shell Mound Historic Site Park. After tasting fresh seafood at Asahi Sea Station Iioka Utopia Center, at 5 PM, as Tanabata decorations begin to sway on Asahi Central Shopping Street and food stalls light up, the citizen festival finally comes into full swing. A day where you can enjoy the sea, history, and the bustle of the shopping street all at once.
