Itakiso Shrine Chinowa Festival: A Full-Day Course

This full-day course centers on the 《Chinowa Festival》 (July 30–31, 2026, opening on July 30 from 18:00), held at Itakiso Shrine, the ichinomiya (leading shrine) of Kii Province dedicated to the god of trees. By day, visit Kishi Station, known for 《Tama the Stationmaster》, and explore the ancient burial mounds at the Wakayama Prefectural Kiifudokinooka Museum. After visiting Kamayama Shrine, one of the ichinomiya of Kii Province, and touring Hinokuma Shrine and Kunikakasu Shrine, another pair of ancient shrines, a large chinowa ring appears at Itakiso Shrine at 18:00 in the evening. It's a day where the family can quietly experience a traditional Shinto rite of purifying summer impurities.
