By day, experience the highlights of Takaoka, the metalcasting town, all condensed into one itinerary. Pay respects at Takaoka Great Buddha, one of Japan's three great Buddhas, experience the tranquility of the national treasures of Zuiryuji Temple, and rest in Takaoka Old Castle Park, surrounded by moats. In the evening, enjoy an early dinner at Otoryaya-dori Shopping Street, then as the sun sets, join the main event. Giant bamboo decorations display colorful kusudama ornaments and streamers that sway in the breeze.
