2026 Yoshida Fire Festival & Susuki Festival Full-Day Course
A full-day course centered on the first day of the 'Yoshida Fire Festival & Susuki Festival' held on August 26-27, 2026 (Wednesday-Thursday) in Kamiyoshida, Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Counted as one of Japan's Three Strange Festivals, it's known as the fire festival that marks the end of Mt. Fuji's climbing season. During the day, visit Arakura Sengen Park with its view of Mt. Fuji and the Golden Torii Gate (Kin-Torii), a symbol of Yoshida, then stop at Michi-no-Eki Yoshida to sample local flavors. As evening falls, enjoy the local specialty Yoshida udon noodles to eat early. When darkness falls, great torches around Kitaguchi Hongu Sengen Shrine and along the roadsides of Kamiyoshida are lit one after another. A spectacular day where families can experience up close the breathtaking sight of flames blazing against the night sky.
