2026 Tokushima City Awa Odori 1-Day Immersive Course
A 1-day course focused on savoring Tokushima, the prefectural capital, featuring the first day of the "Tokushima City Awa Odori" (August 11, 2026), which boasts 400 years of history and is known as Japan's largest-scale bon dance festival. In the daytime, stroll through Tokushima Central Park spread across the castle ruins, take preparatory lessons at the Awa Odori Kaikan, enjoy a panoramic city view from the Maiyama Ropeway, and board a tour boat around Hyotan Island on the Shinmachi River. After an early dinner at Higashi-Shinmachi Shopping Street, from 6 p.m. onwards, authentic dance groups put on their dynamic Awa Odori performances at venues throughout the city, including the Aibahama Performance Stage, until 10 p.m., setting the city ablaze with excitement.
