2026 Mikawa Isshiki Great Lantern Festival: A Full One-Day Course

This full-day course is centered on the first day of the Mikawa Isshiki Great Lantern Festival (August 22, 2026), held at Mikawa Isshiki Suwa Shrine in Isshiki-cho, Nishio City. During the day, experience fresh seafood at Isshiki Sakana Hiroba, visit the historic merchant house at the Former Kasuya Residence, an Aichi Prefecture Designated Cultural Property, and take in the atmosphere of a castle town at Nishio City Historical Park. In the evening, have an early dinner along the street in front of Suwa Shrine, and at 5:00 p.m. head to the venue. Look up together as a family at this nationally rare and powerful summer festival, where giant lanterns over 10 meters tall rise against the night sky.
