2026 Ryōtsu Tanabata and River Opening Festival - Full Day Course

A one-day course centered on the Ryōtsu Tanabata and River Opening Festival (August 8, 2026, around Ryōtsu Port) held in Ryōtsu, the gateway to Sado Island. In the daytime, walk around Kamo Lake, known as a center for oyster farming, experience nature at Toki Forest Park, a facility protecting crested ibis, and learn about the island's legends in an engaging way at the Sado History Legend Hall. In the evening, have an early dinner around Ryōtsu Port, then at 5 PM, head to the venue. Savor a grand summer festival unique to Sado, where swaying Tanabata decorations and fireworks lighting up the night sky embrace Ryōtsu Port, with family. This is a course where you can taste the island's nature and history, as well as the excitement of the festival in just one day.
