Full-Day Enjoyment Course for Orion Tanabata Festival 2026
This is a one-day course centered on the first day of the 'Orion Tanabata Festival' (July 31–August 3, 2026), held along vibrant Orion-dori in central Utsunomiya. During the day, pay respects at Utsunomiya's tutelary shrine, Futarasan Shrine, and enjoy a planetarium show at Utsunomiya Amusement Study Hall. Touch the city's history at Utsunomiya Castle Ruins Park, then enjoy a panoramic view from Hachiman Mountain Park's observation tower. Have an early dinner in the evening at restaurants around Orion-dori, and from 5 PM, the street decorated with colorful Tanabata ornaments becomes the festival stage. It's a uniquely Utsunomiya summer night where wishes are written under the decorated street.
