2026 Hiburi Matsuri (Fire-Swinging Festival): A Full-Day Course

This full-day course centers on the 'Hiburi Matsuri' (held August 14-15, 2026, with the first day as the highlight), held at Gosha Shrine/Hibarino (Kuchi-no-miya Shrine) in Hino Town, Gamo District. In Hino Town, the hometown of the Omi merchants, play together as a family at Blumen no Oka, which offers both flowers and play equipment, learn about the history of the Hino Matsuri at Umamioka Watamuki Shrine, and discover the lives of the merchants at the Omi Hino Merchant Museum. After strolling through the townscape of Honmachi-dori, where old merchant houses remain, the evening brings the main event: the bold and powerful Hiburi Matsuri, where blazing torches are swung through the air.
