2026 Ohana Odori: A Full-Day Course
This full-day course centers on the 'Ohana Odori' (held August 21, 2026), held at Hiyoshi Shrine in Koura Town, Inukami District. In Koura, a town known for its streams and parks, visit Shorakuji Temple, an ancient temple associated with a Nanboku-cho period warlord, and take a break at Roadside Station Seseragi no Sato Koura, where you can enjoy the blessings of the satoyama countryside such as a dog run and a direct-sales stand. After that, stop by Taga Taisha Shrine, known as 'Otaga-san,' in the neighboring town. In the evening, once the sound of taiko drums begins echoing through the grounds of Hiyoshi Shrine, the Ohana Odori is finally underway. Enjoy this simple Bon dance night, a tradition passed down in this satoyama village, at a relaxed pace with your family.
