2026 Nonomichi Jonkara Festival Full-Day Experience Course
A one-day course centered around the opening day (August 1, 2026) of the Nonomichi Jonkara Festival held in Honmachi Street and the surrounding area, the heart of Nonomichi City, which borders Kanazawa to the south. In the daytime, walk through Kenroku-en Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park, two of Japan's most famous gardens, and feel the stature of the Kaga-daimyō castle town. Taste fresh seafood at Ōmicho Market, then pay your respects at Nunoichi Shrine, the local tutelary deity, praying for the festival's success before heading to Honmachi Street in the evening. The circle of the local folk art 'Jonkara Dance' fills the street, and families can also join in the dance circle together. A greedy one-day experience where you can enjoy both Kaga's history and the community's dance.
