2026 Awara Onsen Awara Yukake Matsuri: A Full One-Day Course
A one-day course to enjoy the first day of the Awara Yukake Matsuri (August 8-9, 2026, in front of Awara Yunomachi Station / Yu no Machi Plaza, Awara City), the summer tradition of Awara Onsen where participants in yukata splash each other with hot spring water in a lively celebration. During the day, enjoy the greenery and views of Showa Park, stroll by the water at Kitagata Lakeside Park, and soothe your travel fatigue with a tour of the hot spring district's foot baths. The festival bustles with food stalls from 1:00 PM, and in the evening you can have an early dinner at Yukemuri Yokocho. Following the stage program from 5:30 PM, the excitement reaches its peak with the water-splashing that begins around 8:15 PM. Experience a summer night where the steaming hot spring town comes together as one.
