2026 Oono Castle Festival Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course to enjoy the first day of the Oono Castle Festival (おおの城まつり), where bon-odori dancing continues late into the night in Ono-shi, a city alive with the charm of famous water and a castle town (August 13-16, 2026, in Nakabo, Ono-shi, Fukui / dance venue: Rokken Street). During the day, look up at Echizen Ono Castle, known as the castle in the sky, cool off at Oshozu, one of Japan's 100 Remarkable Waters, and enjoy castle-town-style shopping along Shichiken Asaichi Street. In the evening, have an early dinner in the city center, and at 19:00, head to Rokken Street. Enjoy with your family a summer night in Ono where circles of dancers spread along the lantern-lit street.
