2026 Miharu Bon Dance Full-Day Course
A full-day course centered on the opening day of the "Miharu Bon Dance" held on August 15-16, 2026 (Saturday-Sunday) on Omachi Matsuri Road in Miharu Town, Tamura District. In the daytime, visit Miharu Takizakura, one of Japan's three most famous cherry trees, and experience the traditions of Miharu papier-mâché dolls and Miharu horses at Takashiba Deco Manor. Then view the castle town of Miharu from Miharu Castle Ruins (Maizuru Castle Ruins) and learn the town's history at Miharu Town Museum of History and Folk Crafts. In the evening, enjoy dinner around the Omachi district, and as the sun sets, head to Matsuri Road. Join the dance circle forming around the festival tower to the rhythm of taiko drums, and enjoy the simple, warm bon dance of the castle town as a family—all in one day.
