
Takasaki Festival 2026: Full-Day Immersion Course
The "Takasaki Festival," featuring one of Gunma's largest fireworks displays along with dancing and parades. In 2026, it will be held for two days from August 22nd (Saturday) to August 23rd (Sunday) throughout Takasaki City's central shopping district. This course is a full-day plan centered on August 22nd, the first day. In the morning, trace the remnants of the former castle town at Takasaki Castle Ruins Park and admire the unique architecture of Gunma Music Center. Pay respects at Shorinzan Daruma Temple, known as the birthplace of daruma dolls, then enjoy a panoramic view of the cityscape from Takasaki White Goddess of Mercy, the symbol of Takasaki. In the late afternoon, have an early dinner at Motenashi Plaza in front of Takasaki Station, then head to the central shopping district as the sun sets. From group dancing and festival floats to fireworks lighting up the night sky, this is a course where you can enjoy the heat of Gunma's representative urban festival all day long.
