2026 Kanra Town Chamber of Commerce Summer Festival: A Full-Day Course
The Kanra Town Chamber of Commerce Summer Festival is a community-rooted summer festival held every year in Kanra Town, Kanra District, Gunma Prefecture. In 2026, it has been postponed from its originally planned date of Friday, August 14, to Saturday, August 15, held at Kanra Fureai-no-Oka. This course is a full-day plan centered on the event date, August 15. During the day, stroll through Rakusan-en, the feudal lord's garden of the Obata Domain, and walk the samurai residence streets along the clear waterway of Ogawa Seki. In the afternoon, enjoy encounters with wild animals at Gunma Safari Park, then pick up local flavors as souvenirs at Michi-no-Eki Kanra. At Kanra Fureai-no-Oka, where the festival begins at 4 p.m., the festival mood builds quickly as the food stalls light up, and from around 7:30 p.m., the concurrently held Kanra Town Fireworks Festival launches about 2,000 fireworks. It's a day when families can relax and enjoy a warm summer festival built together by the local community.
