2026 Omura Natsukoshi Festival 'Main Festival': A Full-Day Course
The 'Omura Natsukoshi Festival' is held every summer in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. In 2026 it runs over two days, Sunday, August 2, and Monday, August 3, with the area around JR Omura Station's front street (Natsukoshi Yume-dori) and the central shopping district filled with night-market lights and bustle from 16:00 to 22:00 on both days. This course is a full-day plan centered on the first day, August 2. During the day, enjoy strolling the moat and greenery of the castle ruins at Omura Park, home to the remains of Kushima Castle, then spend a quiet, historical moment at Honkyoji Temple, associated with the lords of the Omura clan. Next, cool off at Mirai-on Library while enjoying books and materials, and have a slightly early dinner at Michi-no-Eki CoCo to fuel up. As the sun begins to set, finally head to the night market on Natsukoshi Yume-dori and the central shopping street. It's a day for the whole family to fully enjoy a quintessentially Omura summer evening amid the lantern light and night-market bustle.
