2026 Nagano Binzuru Full-Day Course
“Nagano Binzuru” (長野びんずる) is held in the Daimoncho and Gondo (大門町・権堂) area, the central district of Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture. In 2026, it takes place on Saturday, August 1, when the whole temple town around Zenko-ji Temple (善光寺) is wrapped in the excitement of dancing — Nagano City's largest summer festival. This course is a full-day plan for enjoying the town of Nagano, which flourished as Zenko-ji's temple town, from midday, and then experiencing the heat of the Binzuru dancing at night. By day, visit Zenko-ji, known for the grandeur of its main hall, and enjoy temple-town-style snacking along Nakamise Street (仲見世通り). Next, cool off in the shade at Shiroyama Park (城山公園), then fuel up with dinner at the Gondo Arcade (権堂アーケード). Once the sun starts to set, head to the Daimoncho and Gondo area for the main event. This is a day where the whole family can fully enjoy Nagano's biggest summer night, as dance troupes take to the streets to the calls of “Binzuru-san.”
