2026 Okaya Taiko Festival Full Day Experience Course
The Okaya Taiko Festival takes place around Ilf Plaza in Okaya City, Nagano, by the shores of Lake Suwa. In 2026, it runs for two days on August 13 (Thursday) and 14 (Friday), with large and small drums echoing throughout the streets, marking the grand finale to Okaya's summer. This course is a full-day plan to enjoy both the scenic Lake Suwa and the historic silk-producing town of Okaya from daytime, while immersing yourself in the sound of drums at night. During the day, enjoy the cool lakeside breeze at Suwa Lakeside Park and explore Okaya's silk industry history at Silk Factory Okaya. Then spend a quiet moment at Kosaka Kannon Temple, have dinner near Okaya Station to refuel, and as the sun begins to set, head to the Ilf Plaza area. Experience a full day where you can enjoy the thundering drums echoing through Okaya's summer night with your family.
