2026 Hirosaki Neputa Festival Full-Day Experience Course
A one-day course celebrating the opening day of the 'Hirosaki Neputa Festival' (held August 1-7, 2026), Tsugaru's colorful summer celebration. Begin in the morning at Hirosaki Park, famous for apple orchards and cherry blossoms, starting with a castle-town walk taking in the castle tower and Mt. Iwaki. View the elevated garden at the adjacent Fujita Memorial Garden, then encounter contemporary art in the red brick Hirosaki Brick Warehouse Museum. By evening, grab an early meal at the arcade on Tetsudo-cho, then head to the festival. Watch the uchiwa and kumi neputa floats parading with the chant 'Yaa-Yado!', a spectacular display of lights that captures Tsugaru's summer spirit. From daytime history walks to nocturnal processions, this full-day experience lets you savor the castle town of Tsugaru. With its walkable course, it's perfect for families and those experiencing a Tohoku summer festival for the first time.
