2026 Susaki Festival: Full-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the opening day of the 'Susaki Festival' (Aug. 1-2, 2026, at Fujigahama Beach in Susaki City and other venues), which comes alive with an offshore fireworks display and a dragon canoe race on Susaki Bay. During the day, start at Michi-no-Eki Kawauso no Sato Susaki (道の駅かわうその里すさき), where Susaki's specialty products and the legend of the 'kawauso' (river otter) live on. Next, encounter the crisp scenery of Otonashi Shrine (鳴無神社), an offshore torii gate shrine also called the Miyajima of Tosa, and take in the Pacific Ocean from a viewpoint along the Yokonami Kuroshio Line (横浪黒潮ライン). In the evening, have an early dinner near Susaki Station (須崎駅), then head to Fujigahama Beach (富士ヶ浜) as the sun sets. On the first night, offshore fireworks color the night sky from around 8:00 to 9:00 PM, and on the second day, a dragon canoe race is held. It's a day to fully savor Susaki's summer.
