A full-day course to enjoy the spirited “Tosa City Otsuna Matsuri” (Giant Tug-of-War Festival, August 15, 2026, along the Tosa-Ino Prefectural Road), where strong contestants pull on a massive rope. Start the day by visiting Takaoka Shrine (高岡神社), the tutelary shrine of Tosa City, then try your hand at traditional papermaking at a craft village dedicated to Tosa washi. Cool off by touching the clear waters of the Niyodo River (仁淀川), then enjoy an early dinner along the shopping street in Takaokamachi. At 6:30 p.m., the giant rope is brought out along the prefectural road, and the tug-of-war begins, bringing the community's excitement to its peak.
