2026 Kochi Teketsu Bon Dance: A Full Day Experience Course
A full-day course celebrating the Kochi Teketsu Bon Dance, where drumbeats and dancing circles unfold on the seaside (August 15, 2026, 7 PM–9 PM at Ya-Shii Park). Start by meeting the animals at Kochi Prefectural Noshi Zoo, then explore the artistic world of Edo period painter Ekikin at the Ekikingura Museum in Akaoka Town. Tour Teketsu Port, one of Japan's oldest dug harbors, and the historic Teketsu Movable Bridge—both reflect the engineering prowess of their era. By evening, enjoy food from some 30 stalls at Ya-Shii Park as you wait for the festival to begin. When the drums sound at 7 PM, yukata-clad dancers form a circle, and Kochi's summer night comes alive.
