
2026 Kaseda Yumepika Honmachi Tanabata Festival - Full Day Experience Course
A full-day course to fully enjoy the first day of the "Kaseda Yumepika Honmachi Tanabata Festival" (August 5-7, 2026, 5-9 PM, Kaseda Honmachi Yumepika-dori) where the central shopping street of Kaseda in Minamisatsuma is decorated with Tanabata decorations. In the daytime, enjoy Kaseda's history and nature. Pay respects at Taketa Shrine connected to Shimazu Tadayoshi, learn history at the Bansei Special Attack Peace Memorial Museum, and experience the sea breeze at Fukiagehama Kaihhin Park, a scenic spot representative of Minamisatsuma. In the late afternoon, have an early dinner at Kinpo Konohana-kan Roadside Station and do some shopping. At 5 PM, when Yumepika-dori becomes a pedestrian mall, the festival officially begins. This is a family-friendly summer day where you stroll through the street while swaying Tanabata decorations sway overhead, enjoy food stall dining, and experience the bustling evening shopping district until 9 PM.
