2026 Okumakabuto Festival Full-Day Course
This full-day course centers on the Okumakabuto Festival (お熊甲祭), a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property held on September 20, 2026, at Kumakabuto Arakashihiko Shrine (久麻加夫都阿良加志比古神社) in Miyamae, Nakajima-machi, Nanao City. In the daytime, enjoy a popular Notojima spot, Notojima Aquarium (のとじま水族館), where you can meet sea creatures, and take in the views from Notojima Ohashi Bridge (能登島大橋). At Notojima Glass Art Museum (能登島ガラス美術館), experience translucent glass artistry, and after watching traditional woodworking techniques at Tamura Tategu Seisakusho (多村建具製作所), head on to the shrine that hosts the festival. It's an autumn day for the family to watch the powerful spectacle of large waku-bata banners standing tall and lion dances parading through the grounds.
