2026 Takaragaike Park (宝が池公園) Children's Paradise Water Play Area Full-Day Course

This is a neighborhood outing course starring the free water play area Children's Paradise Water Play Area (子どもの楽園 親水空間) in Takaragaike Park (宝が池公園), Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, May 30 to Sunday, September 27, and closed every Friday for cleaning and inspection. In the morning, first stop by the Kyoto Botanical Gardens (京都府立植物園) for a leisurely look at seasonal flowers and the large greenhouse. Then head over to Shimogamo Shrine (下鴨神社) and walk the approach wrapped in the greenery of Tadasu no Mori Forest (糺の森) to pay your respects. At lunchtime, refuel with mitarashi dango at Kamo Mitarashi Chaya (加茂みたらし茶屋) near the approach. Once you pass through Tadasu no Mori Forest and arrive at Takaragaike Park, the afternoon climax is water play at the Children's Paradise Water Play Area. Small children can play safely, splashing about in the shallow stream and the water plaza. All the travel can be done on foot or with short train and bus rides, making it an easy day to head out on.
