2026 Kyoto Aquarena (京都アクアリーナ, Nishikyogoku Sports Park Pool Facility) Full-Day Course
A one-day course starring Kyoto Aquarena (京都アクアリーナ), an indoor pool facility inside Nishikyogoku Sports Park in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. It is open year-round from 9:00 to 21:00. Tuesdays are closing days, but the facility opens every day in July and August, making it easy to plan around the summer holidays. In the morning, first enjoy the Edo-era townscape and ninja action shows at Toei Kyoto Studio Park (東映太秦映画村), where you can step into the world of period dramas, then walk over to Arashiyama (嵐山) to take in Togetsukyo Bridge (渡月橋) and the Katsura River at a leisurely pace. After soaking up that distinctly Japanese Kyoto atmosphere, head to Kyoto Aquarena in the afternoon. Because the pool is indoors and unaffected by the weather, you can play in the water with peace of mind even on rainy days or under the harsh midsummer sun. With several pools including a 25 m lap pool and a current pool, it is built so that children who want to swim and children who just want to splash around can each go at their own pace. Changing rooms and showers are fully equipped, so you can travel light until evening. Enjoy a family day that combines Kyoto sightseeing with an indoor pool, rain or shine.
