USU Marine Athletic Atui, the floating aquatic obstacle course that appears at Usu Beach in Date City, Hokkaido, opens in 2026 with a preview run from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, July 20, holds its grand opening on Saturday, July 25 and operates until Sunday, August 30. Opening hours are roughly 9:00 to 16:00, and may vary with the tide. In the morning, first stop by Michi-no-Eki Date Rekishi-no-Mori (道の駅だて歴史の杜), which introduces the history and pioneering days of Date City, and take a break while browsing local specialties and souvenirs. Next, take an unhurried stroll through the lush grounds of Usu Zenkoji (有珠善光寺), counted among Hokkaido's three great temples. After a lunch break, head to the colourful obstacle course floating on the sea. You can enjoy dynamic, summery water play, balancing your way across floating bridges and trampolines set on the water. A full-day course where you can move your body freely until evening amid the majestic scenery of Mount Usu and Mount Showa-Shinzan.
