2026 Aoba-no-Mori Park Water Plaza (水の広場) Full-Day Course

The Water Plaza inside Aoba-no-Mori Park in Chuo Ward, Chiba City runs a preview period in 2026 on weekends only from Saturday, June 20 to Sunday, July 5, and the main season from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 16, from 10:00 to 16:00 (with a 10-minute break each hour from :50 to the top of the hour). It is a free water-play area, just the right size for a day trip close to home. In the morning, first stop by the Natural History Museum and Institute, Chiba (千葉県立中央博物館) in the same Aoba-no-Mori Park and take an unhurried look at exhibits on nature and wildlife in the cool interior. Next, head over to Chiba Shrine (千葉神社), with its beautiful Momoyama-style two-tier main hall, and pay your respects in the quiet grounds. After lunch, head to the Water Plaza. The shallow water and fountain plaza are built so that even small children can play safely, and with plenty of shade it is comfortable even on hot days, which is the appeal. Travel is all on foot or by short drives, a one-day course you can enjoy with a neighbourhood feel.
