2026 Katsura River Gorge (桂川渓谷, around Saruhashi) Full-Day Course

A full-day course starring the area around “Saruhashi” (猿橋), one of Japan's three unusual bridges, in the gorge of the Katsura River flowing through Saruhashi-machi, Otsuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The gorge is open at all times, making it easy to visit in any season. In the morning, first visit Saruhashi, known for its distinctive structure that uses no piers, and view this historic bridge spanning a deep gorge. Then stop at the Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center (山梨県立リニア見学センター), where you can watch maglev test runs up close, and encounter the vehicle of the future. In the afternoon, it is finally time for the Katsura River Gorge spreading below Saruhashi. Enjoy water play in the clear Katsura River flowing beneath sheer rock faces. A day when families can fully soak up the grand scenery and clear water unique to a gorge.
