2026 Kanotoiwa Rock (神戸岩) and Kanoto River Full-Day Course
A one-day course centred on Kanotoiwa Rock (神戸岩) and the Kanoto River (神戸川) in Kanoto, Hinohara Village. It is a valley where a clear stream flows between sheer giant rocks; the walking path is usable all year, and visitors generally approach via the Lodge Kanotoiwa campsite. In the morning, first enjoy the cool scenery of Hossawa Falls (払沢の滝), a leading beauty spot of Hinohara Village, then savour lunch and a day-use bath at Kazuma no Yu (数馬の湯). Once everyone is fed, move to the Kanoto River, where river play at Kanotoiwa Rock and the Kanoto River is the afternoon's climax. In the clear water flowing between sheer rock walls you can splash about and step across stones, savouring valley river play that is hard to find elsewhere. The water is cold, so playing plenty during the sunny hours is recommended. It is a day for the family to immerse themselves freely in the quiet mountain nature unique to Hinohara Village.
