2026 Mie Kenmin no Mori (三重県民の森): Nagare no Hiroba / Asake no Nagare Full-Day Course
A one-day course in the Suzuka foothills built around Nagare no Hiroba and Asake no Nagare in Mie Kenmin no Mori (三重県民の森), in Komono Town, Mie District. The official Q&A lists both Nagare no Hiroba and Asake no Nagare year-round as places where you can play in the water; the park is open 9:00-17:00 and closed from December 29 to January 3. Every facility inside the park is free to use, and there are two places to play: the shallow Nagare no Hiroba, and Asake no Nagare, which runs beside Tombo Pond. The water is shallow and the current gentle, so even small children can paddle with an adult beside them. With a lawn plaza, the Adventure Forest, an athletic course, the Children's Plaza and the Nature Study Exhibition Hall, there is plenty to do when the kids tire of the water. A large car park makes a drive out here easy, which families will appreciate. In the morning, visit the art museum that only Komono Town has and the old temple that served as the domain lord's family temple to get a feel for the town's history. Smoking and open flames are banned throughout the park and barbecues are not possible, so a packed lunch is the right answer.
