2026 Genkai Energy Park Taiyo no Hiroba Jabujabu Pond Full-Day Course
A one-day local outing course built around the Genkai Energy Park Taiyo no Hiroba Jabujabu Pond (玄海エネルギーパーク 太陽のひろば じゃぶじゃぶ池) in Genkai Town, Higashimatsuura District. The opening period of the Jabujabu Pond has not been announced; in past years it has opened during the summer holidays. The park itself is open from 9:00 to 17:00, closed on the third Monday (the following day if that is a public holiday) and from 29 December to 3 January. In 2026, from Saturday 1 August to Saturday 19 September, a Cool Fair (清涼フェア) sets up tents and misting in the outdoor play equipment area, making the park comfortable even in the season of strong sunshine. Admission and parking are both free, which is the greatest appeal — the whole family can head out without a second thought. Taiyo no Hiroba has various play equipment as well as the Jabujabu Pond, and the popular free-fall slide and the bouncy dome on the lawn are what the children come for. Ride the free road train that runs from within the park and you can travel to the neighbouring Genkai Town Next-Generation Energy Park, Aspia (あすぴあ), where grass skiing and barbecues are also available. In the morning, savour the view at the Hamanoura rice terraces looking down over the Genkai Sea, where the sea and the stepped paddies overlap, then learn how energy works together as parent and child at Aspia. At lunchtime spread out a bento on the lawn and play on the bouncy dome and the free-fall slide. In the afternoon it is finally time for the Jabujabu Pond — a day spent with the water until evening.
