2026 Taki Chemical Marine Culture Center Splash Pond (多木化学海洋文化センター じゃぶじゃぶ池) Full-Day Course
The Taki Chemical Marine Culture Center Splash Pond (多木化学海洋文化センター(加古川海洋文化センター) じゃぶじゃぶ池), on the coast of Kakogawa City, is an unusual water-play spot where you play in an artificial pond fed by circulating seawater. In 2026 it is open from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 18:00 (showers available until 17:30). Because it uses seawater, you can enjoy the pleasantly salty feel of the water, different from swimming at a sandy beach, safely and without worrying about waves. Admission is free, and showers and free parking are provided, making it very easy to use for families coming by car. It is cancelled in stormy weather, so check the forecast and operating status before you set out. With a late closing time of 18:00, another welcome point is that you can keep playing well into the evening when the sunlight softens. In the morning, visit Kakurin-ji (鶴林寺), known as the Horyu-ji of Harima, to see its National Treasure buildings, then have lunch at Nikke Park Town (ニッケパークタウン) near Kakogawa Station. In the afternoon, stop by Onoe Shrine (尾上神社), home of the Onoe no Matsu pine famous from Noh chant, before heading to the Taki Chemical Marine Culture Center Splash Pond (多木化学海洋文化センター(加古川海洋文化センター) じゃぶじゃぶ池).
