2026 Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park Water Play Area (兵庫県立淡路島公園 水の遊び場) Full-Day Course
The Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park Water Play Area (兵庫県立淡路島公園 水の遊び場), also called the splash pond, in Awaji City is a free water play area in the park's Exchange Zone. In a typical year it is open from Wednesday, April 1 to Saturday, October 31. The confirmed 2026 dates and hours have not been announced yet, so check the park's notices before you go. Note that the official guidance says it will be unavailable on Friday, August 7, 2026. A large lawn plaza and a wooden play area spread out right next to it, so the strength of this spot is that you can spend the whole day switching between the play equipment when the children tire of the water and the lawn when they get chilled. Visitors are advised to bring a change of clothes, and pets are not allowed in the water. Admission is free. Because it sits just across the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (明石海峡大橋), people coming from the Kobe side can drop by with the feeling of a trip to the neighborhood. In the morning, visit Eshima (絵島), the small island that appears in the myth of the creation of the land, and gaze at the strange shapes the waves have carved into the sandstone. For lunch, enjoy Awaji seafood at Michi-no-Eki Awaji (道の駅あわじ) with the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (明石海峡大橋) close at hand. In the afternoon, spend the day playing in the water until evening at the Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park Water Play Area (兵庫県立淡路島公園 水の遊び場).
