2026 Toyohira River Green Space Water Garden Full-Day Course

The Toyohira River Green Space Water Garden (left bank downstream of Munich Bridge) is a water play facility spreading along the left bank downstream of Munich Bridge, in the upstream district of the Toyohira River. It is usually open from Monday, June 15 to Tuesday, September 15, from 9:00 to 17:00 (the City of Sapporo lists it as mid-June to mid-September). A shallow channel-style water play area is paired with a grassy field on the riverbank, so the place to play and the place to rest sit side by side, which families appreciate. Admission is free, and because the season is long you can visit from early summer in June through the lingering heat of September. In the morning, climb the hill in Hiragishi and enjoy the grassy heights and the view over the city. After a boxed lunch in the shade at Tenjinyama Green Space (天神山緑地), head down the slope to the Toyohira River in the afternoon. It stays open until 5:00 p.m., so you can soak in the water until the sunlight softens. Close to the city center by both car and subway, it is a water play course that is easy to set out on the day you think of it.
