2026 Yufutsu Furusato Park (勇払ふるさと公園) Water Play Area Full-Day Course
A free full-day course starring the Yufutsu Furusato Park Water Play Area (勇払ふるさと公園 水遊び場) in the Yufutsu district of Tomakomai. It is usually open from Monday, June 1 to Monday, September 7, from 9:00 to 18:00, and the Tomakomai city information describes the season as early June to early September. The water is shallow, so even children who have only just started walking can dip their feet in and play. Spend the morning at Lake Utonai, known as a paradise for migratory birds. Walk the waterside of this wetland registered under the Ramsar Convention, then take an early lunch at the roadside station. In the afternoon, stop by the Yubutsu Museum and trace the history of the Hachioji Sennin Doshin (八王子千人同心), who settled this Yufutsu wilderness at the end of the Edo period. The finale is the Yufutsu Furusato Park Water Play Area, where you can send up spray until evening on a quiet stretch of land held between wilderness and sea. Because the district lies a little away from the town centre it rarely gets crowded, and being able to move at the children's pace is this course's greatest appeal. Opening may change depending on weather or cleaning, so checking the day's conditions before you set out gives peace of mind.
