2026 Kita-Futo Green Space (北埠頭緑地) Wading Pool Full-Day Course

A free full-day course starring the wading pool at Kita-Futo Green Space, also known as Kirakira Park (北埠頭緑地 キラキラ公園), right beside Tomakomai Port. The 2026 season has not yet been announced, but the pool is usually filled in time for the summer holidays. Besides the wading pool there is a combination play structure, a zip line, a lawn, an arbour and a shelter, so children can switch to the playground when they tire of the water and retreat to the shade when they tire out. Being able to move with the children's mood is this park's strength. In the morning, take an early lunch of Tomakomai seafood at Puratto Minato Market, a short walk away, including the surf clams for which the city has Japan's largest catch. For the first half of the afternoon, be amazed by the actual Mir space station exhibit at the Tomakomai City Science Center, where admission is free. Then, from late afternoon, enjoy plenty of water play at the Kita-Futo Green Space wading pool. Right in front lies a harbour where large ferries come and go, an unforgettable sight for any child who loves ships. Every transfer takes under ten minutes by car, making this a course that captures the character of the port town of Tomakomai in a single day.
