2026 Izuminuma Park Water Play Area: A Full Day Course
This is a free one-day course built around the Izuminuma Park Water Play Area in Ebetsu City. The opening period for 2026 has not been announced yet, but in most years the water is filled to match the summer holidays. Because the water is shallow, even children who have only just started walking can dip their feet in and play safely. In the morning, visit the Ebetsu City Local Museum. Through original artifacts and models you can trace how Ebetsu, known as the town of bricks, grew up amid the river traffic of the Ishikari River and the cultivation of its peat lands. For lunch, stop at the nearby AEON Ebetsu for a meal to suit everyone in the family, plus a rest. In the afternoon it is finally time for the Izuminuma Park Water Play Area, where you can splash about until evening. Central Ebetsu is compact, and every leg of this day's travel takes less than ten minutes by car. It is also close to Sapporo, so it is easy to set out on the spur of the moment. Opening conditions change from year to year, so checking the Ebetsu City information before you go is reassuring.
