2026 Kamiebetsu Park Water Play Area: A Full Day Course
This is a free one-day course built around the Kamiebetsu Park Water Play Area in Ebetsu City. The opening period for 2026 has not been announced yet, but in most years the water is filled to match the summer holidays. Because the water is shallow, even children who have only just started walking can dip their feet in and play safely. In the morning, visit Nopporo Forest Park, a Hokkaido prefectural natural park. In this roughly 2,000-hectare forest spreading between Sapporo and Ebetsu, walking slowly along trails dappled with sunlight makes the air feel cool even at the height of summer. For lunch, move on to Ebetsu Tsutaya Books. In a building whose wings are devoted to books, food and living, you can browse picture books and have a meal to suit everyone in the family. In the afternoon it is finally time for the Kamiebetsu Park Water Play Area, where you can splash about until evening. The convenience of Ebetsu is that three places with quite different characters, forest, books and water, can be linked with drives of only about ten minutes each. Opening conditions change from year to year, so checking the Ebetsu City information before you go is reassuring.
