2026 Shiki no Michi Seseragi (四季のみち せせらぎ) Full-Day Course
A free full-day course centred on Shiki no Michi Seseragi (四季のみち せせらぎ), the stream that runs along Ebetsu's promenade Shiki no Michi. The 2026 opening period has not been announced yet, but in most years the water runs to match the summer holidays. Fountains, streams and monuments representing the seasons are dotted along the path, and the pleasure unique to this place is playing with the water as you walk. The flow is shallow, so even small children can dip their feet and play. In the morning, visit the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station. Models and video show how this land, where the Ishikari and Chitose Rivers meet, has faced both the blessings of water and the threat of floods. Next, at the Ebetsu City Local History Museum, trace the town's path as a brick-making town and the life of the tondenhei pioneer soldiers. For lunch, enjoy a meal at AEON Ebetsu Store suited to each family member's taste, and take a break. In the afternoon it is finally time for Shiki no Michi Seseragi, where you can splash about until evening. Every stop is within 10 minutes by car, so the whole outing is an easy one contained within central Ebetsu. Opening conditions vary from year to year, so checking the Ebetsu city information before you go will put your mind at ease.
